Why is the electric bulb filled with inert gases?
Answer: The filament of an airless bulb evaporates quickly. As a result, the filament breaks down quickly. Also, the filament material vaporizes and forms a coating around the bulb. Because of this, the brightness of the light decreases. But filling the bulb with inert gas reduces the evaporation of the filament. The bulb lasts longer and the brightness of the light does not decrease.
