How does an electric heater work?

Answer: Electric heaters are one of the devices that work by using the thermal effect of electric current. Electric heaters can withstand high temperatures and consist of coils of nichrome wire placed in circular grooves on discs made of non-conductive mica or fire clay. When the two ends of the coil are connected to the electric line with the help of a plug, the coil becomes red hot as the current generates heat in the coil.

Then the object placed on the heater gets hot. A mica or fire-clay structure has a high layer of heat-resistant material, on which an object is placed so that the object does not come into contact with the coil.
